Character description
On a cold and dark winternight, a young girl was dying from a fever. Her parents had fallen asleep by her bedside, and the wind blew strong and wild through the open window. From the shadows of the night came a creature, a man, tall and pale and dressed in clothes as dark as the shadows he moved in. As he walked in to the room, the candles burned out, and without a sound he sent both mother and father to the Otherlands with a slip of his knife. Then he picked up the fevered child and carried her in to the night...
When he arrived at the graveyard, he laid her down and gently woke her. He gave the child eternal life, and yet another child of the night had been born...
