Character description
I once cherished the life I had. I was to turn 21 in the year 1835. Being of modest means I was still with my loving parents. I had wanted to steal a moment to myself during a full moon night. With the light so bright and to lead my way, I saddled my horse to take a midnight run. As I came to a clearing from the woods, I noticed two men standing in a field. I knew at that moment I should turn and run, as fast as I could and never look back. Without listening to my inner thoughts, I slowly approached. At that moment I understood it seemed to be a battle. A battle to the death. Suddenly, my horse whined and my stomach dropped, the battle had stopped. I tried to turn and leave, but it seemed from the gust of a wind I was toppled off my horse and thrown to the ground. When I turned I saw my horse with his throat ripped open and what looked like a beast from hell peering at me. I heard a voice from behind me. All I heard that seemed like a deep whisper was to turn, run and never look back. Against my will, I ran. I ran as hard as I could through the woods back to the safety of my parents. When I reached my home, something felt different. I slowly approached the door of my home. As I opened the door, I would never suffer as I had that moment. I saw my mother and my father dead. Ripped to pieces as my horses neck. I instantly knew what did this. I turned to look away and saw a man standing, waiting, looking. As he approached, his form seemed familiar. I then realized, this was the man from the field. There were only two questions asked that night. Do you want revenge? YES, I shouted. Do you want to live forever? My reply was this. I want to live as long as it takes to get my revenge.
