Late one night, Marion got ready to leave for home, exhausted after working overtime. Everyone else had left so she decided to turn off the lights of the office. On her way out the door, she heard a very faint crash behind her. She paused. Maybe she was mistaken and wasn't the last person to leave. Since the office was now dark, a co-worker might have bumped into furniture. She turned around ready to apologize but couldn't see anything in the darkness. She was just about to turn on the lights again when her eyes adjusted to the dim light coming in from the glass windows, and she saw one of her co-workers slumped on the floor in the far corner of the office. Recognizing the person to be one of her co-workers who hadn't been feeling well that evening, she rushed to help.
She tried to shake her co-worker awake, but the person wouldn't respond. Getting more worried, she turned away to ask for help instead and reached for the phone. Suddenly, a hand gripped her wrist and she turned to find her co-worker awake and alert, with a strange light in her eyes. It was too late when she realized that her co-worker was a vampire, now intent to kill her for her blood. Fighting for her life desperately, she managed to escape and run home to tend her wounds. Dazed and in shock, she didn't comprehend the significance of some of her wounds and slept fitfully.
When she came to, it was to discover that her life had changed irrevocably. She was now a creature cursed to hunt in the night, to feed on the lives of others to support her own. Torn between self-disgust and self-preservation, she slowly finds herself deriving a strange pleasure from the kill. Horror turned to rage, she tries to redeem herself by destroying the real monsters: the lycans.
