Vampire Briar Morello
Character description
Appearance: Briar is a natural beauty. Her chestnut brown hair falls down to her shoulder blades, but she usually has them up in two braids, mostly to keep the hair out of her face while she reads. Her soft, dark, obsidian eyes offset her slightly tan coloring, while her cherry red lips are slightly plump and draw attention to her mouth. Her 5'5", lithe frame is from years of following orders and doing whatever needs to be done, no matter how it needs to get done. She's lightfooted and her appearance makes her seem as though she's really shy. She has a smattering of freckles over the bridge of her nose as well, and she hates them.
Personality: Briar is, in a word, insecure. She is unsure of herself, and she is constantly watching herself. She has created a barrier, an impenetrable mask, so that no one can see her insecurities. She mockingly calls herself the Grand Actress. She is generally very vocal, and has often been told that she is too loud for her own good. She'll talk about almost anyone and anything, but she is very private. She wont talk about her family, or herself, unless it's to make fun of herself. She isn't ashamed or embarrassed easily, another facade, but she is very innocent in nature. She hasn't fully come to terms with her maturing body and everything that comes along with puberty, but she is slowly adjusting, and so her mask is slowly cracking.
Hobbies: Bri likes to read, and read, and read. She's constantly studying and learning new things.
Talents: Briar is a fast study. She is also very creative, often thinking up detailed plans or ideas on the fly, even though she's loathe to admit it. Bri's also an exceptionally fast reader, and she can comprehend nearly everything she reads. She's almost always got her nose in a book.
Weaknesses: Briar is a solitary person on the inside. She might be friendly with many people, but she is only a friend to herself, and her family. Also, depending on how she's feeling, she can be very unfocused.
History:
Briar was brought up in an unloving environment. Her father made sure that she knew exactly how she was supposed to act and behave, even from an early age. He had no qualms beating his values into her. When she was two, she met her baby sister, Dahlia and lost her mother. She was confused and didn't really understand what was going on. When she cried at night, her father would lock her in the dungeon for the night, only increasing her terror. By the age of five, she had learned to do exactly as Father said without so much as blinking. Over the next few years, Bri was thrust into the position of 'mother' to Dahlia. Jareth helped out when he could, mostly to help keep Briar from freaking out. When he left for school, she cried silently every night until he came home for Christmas break. She peeked at his books, and was immediately fascinated by all of it. After Jareth returned to school, Bri would take to spending an hour or so in the family library, just reading anything and everything she could reach. She received her own invitation to the private school, and immediately became excited.
Jareth took her shopping for her school supplies, and she eagerly read and reread all her textbooks. Once at the school, she was sorted into the same house as her brother. Bri became the bookworm and not many people associated with her.
Before her sixteenth brithday, she was bitten, preserving her natural beauty for all to see.
