The war rages on,
And the days go by,
As the sound of the vociferous gun shots ceases to subside.
The clemency of the man starts to slowly drift away,
And the end seems further and further away.
His cloths become unkempt and squalid,
His mind becoming corrupt,
As well as his action will shortly turn abrupt.
Far off in the distance,
An adversary can be seen.
The man moves closer to close the space in between.
His once ingenuous smile no longer exists,
All that seems to remain is a malevolent grin,
As the fight to the death will shortly begin.
He arrives at his adversary,
So cool and nonchalant.
While he tries to hide his appearance,
That seems to look gaunt.
His abrasion hand reaches slowly for his dagger,
And with abrupt speed,
He stabs the enemy in the chest,
As the feeling of iniquity is no longer suppressed.
The blood from the fallen body starts to drain,
As the killer begins to go insane.
He turns to his comrades,
Whose faces show fear.
For now, they are all cravens,
Apprehensive of their companion,
Who was once sincere.
