Ari Denmosi was a simple man leading his life in the light with his wife and their wonderful twin boys. He had the family, the job, life was good. unfortunately life can be a real bitch and Ari returned home one night to find a pack of dogs had broken into his house and were attacking his family. Launching himself into the fray Ari fought valiantly to beat the vicious pack back and save his family. Alas it was not so fated, these beast slaughtered his family in front of his eyes. Ari managed to trap one dog by knocking it unconscious, the rest fleeing like cowardly coyotes into the night. Ari approached the unconscious dog to dispatch it for its heinous crime when it started to change to revert to a human form. She lay there beaten and bleeding on the floor she begged for mercy, hatred pushed Ari to a dark place as he slashed the bitch's throat swearing that no one would ever stop him from vengeance . Ari used all his resources to research what this thing was, vowing to kill it and any of its kind and all associated with it. One word was found for these beasts, Lycanthropes, studying and learning Ari learned how to hunt these things, how to dispatch them into the night. One night as Ari was tracking down a lead on a possible lycan attacking people, he stumbled into an alley where a vicious fight was in progress between 2 lycans and another man. Ari drew his knife and joined the battle with out a second thought. Again life decided to screw Ari and one of the beasts threw Ari through a window and a piece of glass pierced his lung. The other man dispatched the beast with a flash of his sword and came to find Ari lying there drowning in his own blood. Ari could remember the strange cold look in his eyes, the strange teeth in his mouth. Ari tried to raise his knife to defend himself against this new creature but the man-creature just kicked away and laughed. "A Human who has the courage to attack lycans, clearly mad" he said. "I exist only to see the race destroyed, none will stop me, not even you, what ever you are" stated Ari, oblivious to his eminent demise. "Spunky, I like that in an Ally, Tell me what would you give to be able to fulfill that desire" said the creature. "Anything, everything" slurred Ari finally realizing his injury was going to be his last. Ari's last memory was of the man leaning in close, the coolness radiating off his skin and feeling of flesh being bitten then darkness.
"Darkness, is this hell, I thought there would be more" echoed Ari's thought in a cold dark place, no time existing no sense registering but hunger, an intense growing hunger. A sound interrupted the emptiness invading like a bombshell then diminishing to a tap tap tap. and spatial sense and orientation came rushing back. Ari realized he was alive but buried in dirt, confusing surrounded him as he worked to free himself, how could this be, he remembered the wound. the weakness spreading through him, the strange man-creature, it all came flooding back to him as he dug out of the earth, into a room. "Well its about time you woke from that dirt nap old man" said a voice. Ari spun around to find the man-creature from the alley sitting his his feet up tapping his fingers on a desk. "Here drink this, it will help" he said tossing a wineskin. Ari caught it and opened it sniffing it cautiously, the scent of the liquid set his olfactory sense ablaze. Drinking deeply Ari realized whatever he was drinking was the most wonderful tasting elixir he had ever imbibed. The strange metallic taste filled his mouth making him feel alive, making him feel stronger.
"Who are you" asked Ari "and what is the amazing drink?"
"My name is Oleandrin, and that drink is your new life sustaining elixir, blood" he replied with a chuckle. "What the hell are you talking about?" ask Ari dropping the wineskin suddenly. Oleandrin again laughed and proceeded to explain that he was a member of an ancient race known as vampires and he had decided to save Ari's life that night by extending it forever to gain a valuable ally in the fight against the lycans. The humanity of Ari had long ago burned out during his personal crusade of lycan destruction, so he took this knowledge of what he had become in stride. Over the next few weeks as Oleandrin explained the feud that existed between the two races and how life had changed for Ari and what it would entail. Ari grew strong learning how his new body reacted faster and stronger then before.
One evening Oleandrin appeared and tossed a training sword to Ari and said "here Ari it is now time to turn you out on your own to see if you can survive."
Catching the sword Ari replied "Thank you my liege and bringer of my eternal life. I will not fail on this mission, but I am no longer Ari Denmosi, he died in that alley so many weeks ago, I shall only be known as Denmosi, The Lycan Deathbringer" and he ventured back out into the world to hunt once again......
